CORPORAL PICKERING.
Corporal Roy Pickering, 10th Battalion, who is reported wounded, is a son of Mrs. Pickering, Robert-street, North Croydon. Prior to the introduction of compulsory military training he was a member of the original cadet forces, and won a medal for Shooting. He received promotion from Lance-corporal to corporal whilst in camp at Morphettville. The wounded soldier is 22 years of age, and is a member of the Robert-street (Hindmarsh) Church of Christ. Previous to enlisting he was employed as fireman at the Loco. sheds, Islington.
