Lance-Corporal C. H. V. Mayman, who died of wounds received in action on September 24 was the third son of the late Mr. D. T. Mayman. His mother resides at Henry-street, Norwood. He enlisted with the 27th Battalion. Previously he had conducted an art class at Kensington. Lance-Corporal V Mayman was well-known in the eastern suburbs, where he had spent most of his life. He was 31 years of age,and left a widow and four children. One brother is at the front, and another is in hospital in England.
