LIEUTENANT G.A. MUNRO.
The late Lieutenant Gordon Albert Munro (South Australia), of Kilkenny, was born on August 28, 1894, and attained the rank of second lieutenant when still under 19 years of ago. He went to the front as officer of the 12th Battalion. The deceased was a son of Mr. James Munro, foreman blacksmith at the Islington locomotive works, who resides at Torrens-road, Kilkenny.
He was a State school teacher, and taught at the Glanville school prior to leaving for the front. For several years he had acted as librarian of the Kilkenny Congregational Sunday- school, and was also a member of the church tennis club, but devoted most of his spare time to military duties.
Lieutenant Munro was a promising teacher, who had passed all his examinations well. He was just beginning to study for the degree of B.A. when the war broke out.
