PRIVATE J. A. JAMES.
Private Jonathan Albert James, whose death has been recorded, was 31 years of age on January 1 last. He was born at Wentworth, River Darling. For a number of years Private James worked on steamers trading between Goolwa and Wilcannia as fireman.
After his marriage he resided in Broken Hill for several years, and for the last six years had lived in Adelaide. He was enginedriving for Messrs. Jackett Bros., at Port Adelaide, until his health broke down, and for the last three years was employed by Messrs. E. T. Isley and Co., of Mile-End. He was a Freemason, a member of the Willyama Lodge, No. 178, (New South Wales) of Broken Hill. He was also a member of Albion Lodge Oddfellows, M.U. He was highly respected,and very popular amongst his workmates.
His widow resides at Mile End. He was attached to the 4th Field Ambulance, Second Contingent.
